Who is Anonymous? In a nutshell, they're a collective group of hackers banded together through social networking sites. They've targeted varieties of organizations, notably when they ceaselessly attacked Scientology. The group rose to attention again when they struck out against anyone and everyone that aimed to discredit Wikileaks or Bradley Manning - which included the likes of Mastercard, PayPal, Amazon and security research firm HBGary. The attacks against HBGary were interesting because they were in retaliation for the firm's research against Anonymous, positing they could identify the primary participants. However, as the group has become more militant with a vigilante twist, many members have grown sour and begun exposing the operations themselves.
