PREVIEW COMMENTS
This image was my first foray into photo manipulation with Photoshop 4. Although I liked the flower itself, the original photo's background was distracting which required the magnetic lasso tool for removing. Superimposing the image on a rendered background with a lens flare effect completed the image.
I extracted these blue eyes from a photograph because I found them so strikingly blue. To further highlight them, I faded the residual image into a white background for contrast.
After visiting Normandy, I felt the cross needed to stand alone for greater visual impact. Combining the headstone against a close up of the West Point parade colors made for a patriotic tribute to fallen Americans.

The United States Military Academy features a series of stone benches surrounding Trophy Point. Each is inscribed with a single word epitomizing a value with which a cadet should strive to uphold. The Pointer was in need of some humor, so the new values were digitally created. Each bench had the existing word removed using Photoshop's clone tool until a smooth stone face remained. Text was then rendered atop the clean surface by skewing the perspective to match the bench's orientation and applying layer effects to create an embossed, shadow effect with enough transparency for the stone to show through.
This composite image was put together for the Signal Captain's Career Course 04-04 class picture. Due to various pranksters, 30% of the individuals pictured were actually cut and pasted from four other photos to create a "presentable" image.
